Before “the roadkill bill” that is awaiting Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s signature,  if a person hit a deer while driving, only that person could take the deer and only during deer hunting season.

City to seek grant funds for Simms Center preservation, more sidewalks and Northend Greenway

With a major expansion of I-81 through Harrisonburg about to begin, people and businesses located closest to the interstate will have a chance to weigh in on whether they want a sound barrier built to dampen highway noise.

I-81 update: Del. Wilt says construction to widen the section that goes through Harrisonburg could start soon

Plans for the improvement and widening of Interstate 81 through Harrisonburg are moving along, and the public will begin to see roadwork soon to support infrastructure changes for the widening, said state Del. Tony Wilt.

Even Brad Reed, a Virginia Department of Transportation project manager, said driving U.S. Route 33 during rush hour between Harrisonburg and Elkton is a different experience than traveling during the weekend. 

He nearly died on U.S. 33 and has some thoughts on how to improve it

Tristan Miller described the coma after his 2016 car accident on U.S. Route 33 as seeming like one long dream. In it, Miller would fall from a skyscraper toward his car on the ground, but just before he’d hit the car, the dream would restart.
