New draft of Westover Skate Park designs to be unveiled soon

Harrisonburg officials have received American Ramp Company’s proposed designs for the new Westover Skate Park and will unveil the designs to the public in the next couple weeks, following controversy with last year’s original design.

Before deciding the next step in rebuilding the Westover Skate Park, the city council on Tuesday decided to explore whether it’s best to find a new contractor.

Mayor Deanna Reed announced the city will pause the planned renovation to the Westover Park skatepark after hearing from members of the community about frustrations and concerns.
